Do video games increase brain?

The majority of Thai gamers play mobile games. Ninety-five percent of those living in major cities play mobile gaming applications. The rest prefer PC or console gaming. In the first half of 2021, 95% of paying gamers in Thailand spent money on virtual goods and in-game items. This indicates that Thais love gaming.

However, the legal framework for gaming in Thailand needs more consideration. Regulatory frameworks should shift from a content-based approach to more industry-centric regulation. While MGM Resorts International and Las Vegas Sands are among the potential partners for Thailand, the legal framework is not yet developed. A panel at G2E Asia 2018 in Singapore highlighted a number of challenges.

While the gaming industry is still young in Thailand, it is rapidly growing. At the moment, 41% of the Thai population plays gaming, including PC and console games. The country’s gaming industry is worth 22 billion THB (about 710 million USD) and is currently the second largest in ASEAN. The country is home to many well-known gaming studios such as Sandbox Local and Sanuk Games. There is a growing range of games available in Thailand, from RPGs to virtual reality.
