The Jaguar E Type Review

jaguar e type

The Jaguar e type is a car that has had a significant impact on the world of motoring. It has a sleek, aerodynamic look that is admired by many and was a success in its time.

The e type is known for its ability to spool up quickly and has a reputation for putting down huge power. This is largely down to the XK engine which is a six-cylinder overhead camshaft unit producing 250bhp SAE and 171bhp net.

With its state-of-the-art independent front and rear suspension it is a very well balanced car that has a good amount of grip for a sports car. It is also very comfortable to drive and can be driven in all sorts of conditions.

Jaguar E-Type: From Roadster to Coupe

Driving the Jaguar e type is an exhilarating experience, although it can also be a bit daunting at first. The power is immediately noticeable but with a bit of practice it becomes easier to control the car and the rpms are gradually increased as you learn the feel of the gearbox.

Wheelspin is a concern with this car but the Power-Lok differential helps to limit it. When we did not have the rear wheels spinning there was a considerable whine when cornering but at speed this was easily quelled.

We drove the e type with a good level of comfort, it is not intended for puttering around and a lot of luxuries are included in the price. Some of these are things that most drivers take for granted, like the headlight flasher, windshield washer and anti-glare rear view mirror.
